Fabio Pirozzolo is an Italian drummer, multi-percussionist and singer currently based in Boston, Massachusetts. Originally from Terracina, Italy, he started his career as a folk percussionist, playing Italian frame drums tamburello and tammorra, in one of the most famous folk groups in his area. This experience gave him the opportunity to travel throughout Europe, playing concerts and giving lectures on regional Italian frame drum techniques. Fabio performs in virtually any genre of music from jazz to world music to rock. He’s the co-founder of the world music ensembles Sawaari, Grand Fatilla Distant Memories and Italian folk music ensemble Newpoli. Highly in demand both as a drummer and as percussionist, he’s currently the drummer for Club D'Elf, Vanessa Trien and The Jumping Monkeys, and the Union United Methodist Church Band. He’s also the percussionist for Yoni Battat, Basel Zayed, Revma Greek Ensemble and Musaner. He taught master classes at Berklee, Harvard and Tufts University and worked at Emerson College and Boston Conservatory as an accompanist for dance classes. He’s the author of the drum transcriptions for Skip Hadden’s drum books "Profiles in Jazz Drumming" and "Broken Eight’s Time Feel".
Harpist Shelley Otis plays for more than 200 weddings and private events every year. She also performs publicly as a soloist and as part of several ensembles. Highlights include the South Shore Folk Music Club, the Boston Recorder Society Concert Series, opening for Maddy Prior at the Music Haven, and private events in France, Puerto Rico, and Mexico.
As a composer and arranger for the harp, she draws on multiple musical traditions, and has traveled in Mexico, Chile, and Ecuador, interviewing harpists from the arpa llanera tradition.
She maintains a 5-star rating on several event planning sites and is a multi-award winner of both Wedding Wire's Couples Choice awards, and the Knot's Best of Wedding Awards.
Richard Gates is a highly regarded bassist known for his adaptability and melodic sense, with a distinguished career spanning various genres. He has toured nationally and internationally, recorded for film and TV—including work for Walt Disney Pictures—and collaborated with notable artists across major labels like A&M, Columbia, and EMI. Gates began his musical journey in Dayton, Ohio, before moving to Los Angeles to play with Roulette Records artist Don Cooper. He later formed a rhythm section with Pete Thomas, who went on to join Elvis Costello's band. In Boston, he has worked with recording with artists from Rounder Records, High Street, A&M Records, Columbia Records, Capital Records, EMI Records and Signature Sounds. He has toured nationally and internationally with numerous artists. He has been an instructor with the Berklee School of Music in their Summer Guitar Workshop Program and continues to provide the low-tones for many genres of music, including pop, folk, R&B, rock, world and Americana in the Boston music community.
In a review for the Boston Globe, Scott Alarick characterized Gates as an “Intelligent accompanist”, which well describes his attitude about playing the bass. Adaptability is the hallmark of his work. He uses his great sense of melody in the barebones world of folk, and builds a solid foundation with any rhythm section.
Born and raised in Rhode Island, violinist Cami Duncan enjoys a varied career as soloist, chamber musician, and pedagogue. She received a Bachelor of Music Performance degree and a minor in Rhetoric and Writing from Rhode Island College. Additionally, Cami earned a Master of Music degree and an Artist Diploma from SUNY Purchase Conservatory, where she studied on scholarship under the tutelage of Deborah Buck. Other notable instructors include John Sumerlin, Gregory Fulkerson, Carmit Zori, and Joana Genova. While at Purchase Conservatory, Cami won the 2017 Concerto Competition for her performance of Ernest Chausson’s Poème, and she performed Richard Wagner’s Siegfried Idyll alongside members of Decoda, the first ever Affiliate Ensemble of Carnegie Hall.
Additionally, Cami made her Carnegie Hall debut in 2018 at Weill Recital Hall through Larchmont Music Academy. She has had the privilege of participating in numerous masterclasses, including for renowned artists Ani Kavafian, Kristen Lee, and Sean Lee of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center; Emerson, Indianapolis, Kronos, Muir, and Shanghai quartets; and members of the Horszowski and Kalichstein-Laredo-Robinson trios. Previously, Cami taught at Larchmont Music Academy in Larchmont, New York and for Taconic Music’s Strings for Kids program in Manchester, Vermont. Most recently, Cami served in the admissions division for Boston University School of Music. Outside of performing and teaching, she has a passion for baking and pastry arts.
